Jonny Feasy

Jonny joined Milnrow Band in January 2025 and has been holding down the bottom end ever since. Brass started for Jonny on cornet at the age of seven through school and Oldham Music Centre, followed by time on flugel and euphonium with a local youth band. Just before the second year of college someone handed over a bass, and that was that.

He went on to study music at Huddersfield University and has been competing with Championship section bands for more than a decade. The recent Scottish Open victory with Milnrow is right up there on the list of proudest moments.

A standout Milnrow memory so far is the Dr Martin Contest, where the band delivered a performance to be proud of against some top names and proved they could more than hold their own.

Away from the contest stage, Jonny loves the social side: making new friends, having a laugh, and turning rehearsals into something to look forward to rather than a chore.

Outside of music, Jonny likes to pick heavy things up and put them down again, repeatedly – and then coach other people to do the same. That hobby has taken Jonny to regional level as an under‑80kg strongman competitor.
